A bulletin board idea for displaying QR Codes on "Meet the Teacher Day", "Open House" or through out the school year! 

An idea for displaying your information in the front office or library for parents, students, etc.

 

HOW DO I CREATE A QR CODE?

You can create a QR Code by clicking this link.  This site allows you to generate codes for websites, important phone numbers, contact information, or you can even generate a code that will send a free text. Pretty cool, huh?!? There is an option for you to "Save" your QR Codes so that you can upload them later when you are ready to print them for display.

 

VOICE ACTIVATED QR CODE! SAY, "WHAT?!?!"

That's right... You can even create a QR Code that speaks! How awesome is that?!? If you'd like to try it out, go to this link. You simply type in what you want the code to say and it generates a code for you. If you have a QR reader app. on your phone/iPad, try it out by listening to this code! ;-)

Counseling Binder Forms

These awesome counseling forms can be found and downloaded from a wonderful school counselor's webpage called Elementary School Counseling. I personally used these forms last year to  stay organized and to help keep track of all of my meetings, phone calls, things I needed to do and students I needed to see for individual counseling sessions. I would highly recommend them for your school counseling binder if you're looking for an easy way to stay organized.

 

Another great BlogSpot that has FREE resources and forms for counselors is The Not So Wimpy Teacher's Manual. My favorite one is the Communication Log form that I've attached below.

 

 

If you are looking for a form to help you keep up with individual students like the one I have posted below, I would recommend The Helpful Counselor's Blog Spot.

 

 

The next form is one that I created for when I meet with a student for the first time. It helps breaks the ice and gives me the opportunity to get to know the child/student a little better before we start talking about whatever issue they are having at home or at school. Under the "Summary" heading, there are five pictures. Each picture stands for a different topic. The house represents who lives in their home. This tells me a lot about the child's family dynamics and home life. The hands symbol represents the child's friends at school and at home. This lets me know who they are "hanging out with", what influences (positive or negative) they may be receiving from others, etc. The smiley face stands for the thing(s) they like about school and the sad face stands for their least favorite thing(s) about school. Finally, the person on the bike represents the things they like to do when they are not at school. For example; fishing, going to the beach, riding their bike, etc.
